 | Local Presbyterian Churches are grouped together to form a Presbytery. Several Presbyteries form a Synod and several Synods form the General Assembly.
To the left are links to the Presbytery and Synod of which Unity Presbyterian Church is a part. Also check out the national webpage. We are providing these so you can become informed about the work of the larger Presbyterian Church body. The blue cross is a link to United Campus Ministries that welcomes all college students, staff, faculty and community members to grow in faith.
Unity is in Mission right here in Terre Haute and all around the world.
To give you a perspective of our giving and support of local missions we want you to know that members of Unity give hundreds of hours not only to our church and food pantry but also such diverse missions as United Campus Ministry, Habitat for Humanity, 14th & Chestnut, our hospitals, Humane Society, quilts for Red Cross and serve on the board of Dispute Resolution Center?
We also keep in our prayers and send financial support to the Marion Medical Mission (through purchase of a swallow well usually dug in Malawi) and our Sister Church in Ashanti, Ghana. Our budget supports the general missions of Ohio Valley Presbytery, Synod of Lincoln Trails and General Assembly plus we support four special offerings: One Great Hour of Sharing (Easter), Pentecost, Peacemaking (World Communion in October) and the Joy offering (Christmas).
Our total giving to mission last year was over $12,000. Let us pray that this year we can give even more! Praise and thanksgiving to God who invites us to reveal the Kingdom through our lives.
Our mission statement: Unity Presbyerian Church is living Christ's mission, the great commandment and the great commission by loving God, loving each other and making disciples.
